Barely Transparent

Sterling Boat by Sadie J Valeri

Transparency.
Cold as nothing.
Illuminating everything.

The light flows through.
Shines onto reddening veins.
An alien presence in
A world of my own.

The light permeates.
Every corner.
Every end of every syllable.
It sees all; knows all.

The light, stank and dark.
Does not exist.
The darkness creeps back.
The corners of my eyes
Fade to black.

Transparency.
It withers.
Washed away.
Was it ever there anyway?

Translucent, I might say.
The agitated mind was right after all.

Veiled with agony,
Embarrassment of the hellish kind,
Here I surrender my tainted tears,
To wash those Godly feet of thine.

These feet are marked with mud too.
Very human, just like your own.
Embarrassment is unnecessary.
The agony premeditated.
Let not the pain bear scars.
Let the chaos be systematic.

A very wise poem.

@Aayushi : Indeed?

the agony does cry out. "Cold as nothing" - I don't know why but I thought this line was wonderful.
I read it thrice and each time it felt different...as in the interpretation.
Needless to say, it is beautiful, in a heart-wrenching way.

@Antara : I guess the line might be interpreted in several ways. I'm glad you liked it. Rather sad poem!

not just the line...the whole poem :)

Then it annihilates,
Sprinkling sawdust-
over the eyes.
It solidifies,
Turns opaque.

D2 said...

@Sayak :
The opacity gives way.
The cataract falls forever.
