Under The Eaves

Under the eaves as the night grew darker,
we talked on and on without the thought to stop.
Under the eaves as people dropped off in fatigue,
We knew nothing of it, all else forgotten in each others' voice.

Beneath the shadows as the ghosts of the dark emerged,
The conversation tumbled to thoughts of old.
Murky as they had been, long before we even existed,
the time passed by, work sidestepped; nothing else mattered.

Revelations were made, conclusions were drawn.
Nothing was anything we hadn't spoken about before.
But it was all to meaningful and natural to be disregarded.
And so we talked on, oblivious of the shadows growing around us, that otherwise
Could certainly not have been ignored.

Time flies, they say and those who do are wise men.
They are people madly in love and realize that a few hours can seem like an age
And months on end can seem like days.

Because time somehow forgot to take it with us when we were together this night.
Time stopped; it never knew of the two engrossed with each other.
With eyes for none other and with ears for nothing else.
Time seemed to have taken a nap last night, when we were together.

Under the eaves, as the sun came up, smiling and yawning at the same time,
When time realised that he'd gone about his ways a little too carefree and delusional.
When I heard you hum and sing something beautiful and as my heart melted,
I realised I had found the love of my life and I'd never let go.
The sun would come down again and every time it did,
With us on it, the ship would have again sailed.

I'll hum it again and much more sensibly this time... with all the lyrics correct :-D
I'll be honest here. I am finding it difficult to say anything right now. And saying that I am speechless would just sound so cliche because I have said that a million times before.

So I'll just say this:
Time and tide have known no bounds,
But when it comes to us, my love,
Time would bow down to all that we have,
For with careful ears and a melted heart,
Time would stop by and listen too, and never let us be apart.

Time flies by when lovers talk... months are days and hours, seconds.

Its just like the feeling that, we had just started to talk, and the sun came up again. :)

@Enchanta : The next you do sing it, I'll be singing it with you. :)

The waves would keep flowing when we're together.
The night would seem endless at the same time.
The sands of the hourglass would stop flowing altogether.
And we would move on, a little older, a little more in love.

@Blasphemous Aesthete : Absolutely. Einstein was right. :D

This time I would rather quote -

"Wired and I'm tired,
Think I'll sleep in my clothes on the floor,
Or maybe this mattress will spin on its axis,
And find me on yours."

Touching and so heart-felt! It's more than obvious that the feelings are all too real. Breathtakingly beautiful piece of poetry, this!

You must have found someone very beautiful to fall in love with.

@Sayak :
You do not need to spin it any way.
The light will reach you sometime.
And I'm sure you do not need to wait long.
Your fatigue will go, as you wake up in the sunshine, rested.

@Sammy : Thanks a lot. It did come directly from my heart. :)

@Ausdrucklos : Indeed I have. :)
