Painting by Julia Stopnik |
Their flow to be washed away by the salt of your own.
The grief, prolonging, is harsh and cruel as I behold,
You disappearing behind gates and I, unable to follow.
As the memories hit me, warm and comforting,
I am reminiscent of all that we had been through together.
As holding you seems to make it easier,
It is only short-lived as the fleeting moment dies away.
But the eye of the tornado is always constant, undying.
The zone where nothing can be destroyed is where we are.
As I look forward expectantly to our meeting in a while.
A wait, however long, can tarnish nothing that we have.
My precious gem, my dandelion with its fluff blowing away.
As the bee hovers over it, exuberant over the radiant flower.
Nothing can come between us, our love stubborn and unchallengeable.
As the images in my memories fly by, ingrained forever in my eyes.
As we live together, in the eye of the tornado.
Our love to now withstand little trivial tests of time.
As the tears now fall freely off my face.
As my heart I have bestowed in your care already, now and forever.
A note to my Enchanta : I had been thinking and dreading the moment of your departure for weeks but now that you've gone, the only thought I have left in me is that of seeing you again, after a short and hopefully short month. I can't wait to see you, my little flower. I love you, Dimi.

This is THE BEST POEM I have read till now, not just because of its divine meaning but also because it is the best poetically, metaphorically.
The eye of the tornado will learn how to love if it stays in close affinity with us.
The eye of the tornado, you are welcome.
I LOVE YOU BEE! I LOVE YOU!
Oh and the painting, well let me tell you, we shall frame it in years to come and will put it on the front wall of our hall, how does that sound?
I am even planning to frame this poem in a stylized parchment and hang it beneath the painting, just like it is on your blog! :-)
Distance makes it grow stronger, doesn't it. :)
@Enchanta : I don't know about it being the best or anything, neither do I care. I'm just glad you liked it. :P
hehe
And I love you and your ridiculous ideas! If this is to be framed, then so must be all the poems you've ever written for me. 'The Richest Treasure' made me write this poem. Don't forget that. What I am is because of you and this love. :-)
Regarding the painting, I love your thoughts! :D
@Blasphemous Aesthete : I do believe so now. :)
I love how you wrote about the "Eye of the Tornado".
"The zone where nothing can be destroyed is where we are." - a wonderful line
I love Antara's comment... :-)
