Lying Together in Love and Gloom

They lay in bed next to each other.
They lay close, their bodies tender.
Trouble loomed, not too close, yet not far.
As they lay in bed in each others' warmth.

Passions had been ignited, not too long ago.
Flames were not yet subdued.
But not tonight, there was only time to speak.
As she looked upon him, his face scared and meek.

They would handle everything, they thought.
But they knew life didn't treat so kindly.
They would be together through it all, they said.
And sure that was true, they lay close in bed.

There were eight more months to go.
She was terrified, little money they had, their own.
But they'd take care of it somehow, he kept assuring.
As he kissed her forehead, he'd be with her, promising.

Was it a mistake; maybe it was, they felt.
Were they too young; of course they were, they knew.
But love knew no bounds then, and it wouldn't ever.
As they lay fondly together, thinking of the future.

What a sweet piece of article and so well written. I wonder how you manage to write spontaneous articles, one after the other, irrespective of other engagements. I 'll take ages to start the next one. Keep it up.

Teen pregnancy is it? You've described the whole situation with so much subtlety that this made for a wonderful read. Emotions have been portrayed to perfection. :)

@Cherry Blossom : Thank you so much. I haven't started working anywhere yet. I just hope I'll have enough time then as I do now.

@Sammy : Thanks a lot. :)
Yes, it revolves around teen pregnancy.

Good one! And what inspires you to write so often and so well? I'm trying to come out of a writer's block and so I ask :)

@Zave :
Thanks a ton, bro. :)

@Spunky Saturnine :
Thank you. :)
And it's not that I don't get writer's block. It's just that these pictures and sometimes movies or books give me ideas on what to write about. If I know what to base something around, I can put some words together. Getting the idea is hard.

@Someone Is Special :
Thanks. And yes, I'll certainly write for Room For Romance in future weeks as well. :)

@Purba Di : Thank you. And of course you're worried about the kids! The parents were probably having their own weird times, not unlike the ones you have describe in your latest post!
