Hypnotic Sleep

"Sleep" by Salvador Dali (1937)

Diving into realms unknown.
Hypnosis a major part of the day.
Being whisked away by honeydew senselessness.
Into long moments of unawakened gray.

Soporific actions inducing a dull buzz in my veins.
Making me crash into my bed with utter hopelessness.
Flying into a dreamland full of ancient monstrosities.
Vague sense of freedom mixed with a entrancing sense of bliss.

Music flowing numb in my head, the lyres failing to wake.
My work lying askew, head lank over a bed of an ocean.
Awoken with deadened bulging eyes to see a chaotic mess.
Falling with disregard back into the cotton with blurry emotion.

PS. Written at a moment like many others after waking up, having slept blissfully for hours while I was supposed to have been working!

Sometimes offered handsomely;
Sleep, a few moments of bliss,
Sometimes denied ruthlessly;
Left, to stare at a dismal abyss!

Needless to say, this was another one of your poetic marvels. Well, each and every one is! :)

@Sayak :
Great words, mate.
And thanks. :)

Aaah, after all the turmoil and restless of a seemingly quietened soul, only the one who has experienced such a hypnotic slumber knows the drug-like blissful essence of sleep.

I, for one, know it and delve into it at the slightest chance.

@Enchanta : As one needs to, one must lose himself in blissful sleep every now and then. :D

PS. You sleep too much. :P
