Haven

Dazed and confused I arrived at your door.
You gave me shelter and some food.
You provided for me when no one else would.
You gave me love when nobody understood.

I had come to you a broken man.
Lost my will, my heart's fire had been extinguished.
You never cringed, you never cribbed.
You took care of me when my sanity ebbed.

You gave me light when my world was thrown into darkness.
I could then see the beauty in the winter skies.
You were my burning flame when I could see no fireflies.
You were my dawn, my dusk, my everything, my eyes.

I shall never forget your love or recall my dead past.
I owe that to you, forever shall be grateful.
I will always remember your immeasurable
Love when I needed it most in my time of cruelty.

Think of me when you need me most.
Whisper my name into the wind when you are in dire need.
I will be by your side whether I be living or dead.
I love you forever, your humble servant shall I always be.

PS. This post is dedicated to my beloved Enchanta; she who has been there for me through every turmoil. I will always be there for her. I love her.

A stroke of gratitude portraying infinite compassion which befell upon; inflicting outright pathos wrapped up with fervent concealed emotions, just to bow before The One with utmost humility.
Incredible!

Wow, you've written with such pure emotion, it was entrancing. If someone, in today's world still loves like this, it must definitely be a better place than I think:)

Thank you for writing this.

@Sayak :
Thanks for summarizing my poem in such beautiful words.
:)

@Aayushi :
Thank you for believing in me this way. :)
I do mean every word that I wrote. I'm just a bit lost sometimes regarding who or what the words are directed to. Some other times, though, I do know, of course!

@Anju Gandhi:
Thank you so much.
As for the command over the english language bit, I still have a long, long way to go for that statement to be remotely true.

And the luck is mine for having stumbled across your blog. Your opinions are all worth taking into account seriously.

Thanks again.

Nice one.Saw the hidden pain and the unmeasurable depth in feelings of gratitude.Yeah,when we are left with noone in our trenched times,someone just comes from nowhere to lift us.I've experienced the power of such support.Surely,its truely unmeasurable with words of tributes.Keep writing.

@Nithin :
It certainly is something that can never be measured or taken for granted, the power of selfless help, with or without love.
Thanks. :)

I do not know what I should say now that you have dedicated this poem to me. To say that I am overwhelmed would be an understatement.

The emotions are too rich to be expressed in such words. I hope your faith in me does not fail you.
I am not worthy of this poem.

That is all I can say.

D2 said...

@Enchanta : It is for me to decide whether you are worthy or not. I have decided that if someone should be, it must be you.
The emotions and the faith is real. :)
